The weather forcasts on the local channels

First off I like the current weather staff at both stations they do a great job but!!! Why does the weather have to be a comedy routine? It started with the Cory McClosky and continues in full force today. Could someone explain "dusting" to me? It either snows or it don't. I would much prefer to just hear the forecast in plain ole simple lingo. Weather is not funny. Open mic night at the old Crickets comedy club was funny. Could WGEM be more pro John Spring? It's like watching Fox News as far as biased is concerned..

Actually I would prefer the lite hearted humor and laughter any day over sarcastic and stone faced attitudes. I wish there was more of it. Did you have a bad Easter weekend Gifted? Whats wrong with injected humor? Im sure you do it @ work as most of us do.

I did not say i wanted sarcastic weather coverage, just omit the funny comments etc. I do like humor and involve myself in it at work all the time. However, during the course of my duties at work i leave the humor for lunch time etc. Humor has a place and time and during the weather (IMO) is neither the place nor the time. I'd like to see the news casts focus more on the local new stories rather than national. We have the the major stations for national coverage. Let's see what happened in and around Quincy. You know those stories that they write about in the small town papers like Canton, Palmyra etc. Not really looking for who visited who for the weekend but I am not looking to spend 20 minutes seeing a regurgitated version of the NBC news show either. Most of us just watched the evening news and have had our bellies full of what Obama ate on his trip or who Michelle hugged or was hugged by. Pro Obama by the way. Just don't really need to know he had the veal cutlett smothered in a nice bernaise sauce with a side of truffle covered cheese cake with a locally grown cherry on top washed down with a glass of Merlot or someother high priced wine.

You know now that i think about it, mayeb WGEM should have in place of any sports, a 10 minute omedy routine by Brian and Natile. Brian is about as funny as they come and Natile is semi cute. They could team up and do a song and dance number from some old vaudville act long since forgotten by this generation. Now that was a classic example of sarcastic humor..

Out of all the comments you made I agree with the one you made about the local news being for local news only.....that I totally agree on. But on the subject of humor injection I disagree. I think some of them are better at humor than others but I still think for the most part they do a good job.

I never said they did not do a good job. Brian is usually spot on when it comes to his predictions.

I get annoyed when 7/10 have stories about a traffic accident in Texas or a structure fire in Ohio. What makes them think that we care?
