When I first heard about QJHS's plans to move all Freshmen to the fourth floor to create a "High school floor," I was skeptical. It seemed like a cheap fix to a bigger problem (Freshmen not being at the high school). However, they really have done a great job with it. I recently substituted at Junior High and really did notice a difference in the fourth floor environment. There were many posters featuring Blue Devil decals and a huge sign that says, "Welcome to the Freshmen floor, home of the Blue Devils." The biggest change is perhaps allowing all Freshmen to attend the QHS Homecoming dance, which hasn't been allowed in years. It really does seem that they are doing a great job at making Freshmen feel like high schoolers, even though they aren't at the high school.
